The construction of the Shatin-Getap canal with a length of 1480 meters has been completed. Previously, the canal irrigated an area of 44 hectares with an earthen and poor bed, under the conditions of which 58 percent of the water supplied to the farms did not reach the gardens. Within the framework of the irrigation systems modernization project co-financed by the Eurasian Development Bank and the RA government, the Shatin-Getap canal, which was overhauled through the Territorial Development Fund of Armenia (RTDF), has already been overhauled and is ready for operation. 720 meters around the canal with a total length of 1480 meters is a monolithic reinforced concrete structure, 760 meters is a reinforced concrete LR-8 half-pipe. In general, more than 112 million drams were spent on the canal, as a result of which reducing the water loss, it is expected that cultivated hectares in Yeghegnadzor area will increase significantly.
