The losses of irrigation water entering Yerevan have been reduced to a minimum
As a result of the reconstruction of Nor Dalama and Nork canals, the losses of irrigation water entering Yerevan were reduced to a minimum. As part of the irrigation system modernization project with the support of the Eurasian Development Bank, the RA government through the Armenian Territorial Development Fund (RTDF) has reconstructed the damaged and damaged parts of the Nork and Nor Dalma canals. In particular, the loss of irrigation water entering Yerevan in Nor Dalma canal was up to 60 percent. With an investment of around 206 million drams, instead of the former concrete open canal, more than 3400 linear meters of closed polyethylene pipelines with a diameter of 355mm and 280mm have been installed. A significant part of the Nork canal was also in a dilapidated and deplorable condition. With an investment of more than 205 million drams, 3450 linear meters of polyethylene and metal pipelines with a diameter of 355 mm and 315 mm were installed. Thus, the horticultural farms of the reconstructed parts of the two wells and the lands near the houses are now irrigated with a lossless closed system, as a result of which the water supply has also increased. As a result of the works carried out under the irrigation system modernization program, the amount of irrigation water in other green areas of Yerevan will also increase significantly.
