The drinking water lines of Gyumri city and twelve communities are being repaired
More than 70 percent of the construction works of the drinking water line of the city of Gyumri and twelve communities have been completed In the near future, Gyumri and twelve communities will switch to a 24-hour water supply regime. The "Water Supply and Drainage Restoration Project" is being implemented in the service area of "Shirak Water Supply and Sewerage" with the co-financing of the RA Government and a loan provided by the German Development Bank (KfW) through the Regional Development Fund of Armenia. The start of the project worth around 11.5 million euros was given back in 2021, with the reconstruction of the water supply system of the city of Gyumri, the reconstruction of about 7 kilometers of emergency sewers. In 12 settlements, a completely new drinking water system is being built. In total, 7,500 subscribers are the beneficiaries of 262 kilometers of water lines. In order to ensure round-the-clock water supply, an 11-day regulatory reservoir will be rebuilt, completely new water meters will be installed.
