Active construction works are underway in the Vedu reservoir
Active construction works are underway in the Vedu reservoir. The delegation of the French Development Agency, headed by the newly appointed director of the South Caucasus office Delpi Fanny, visited the Vedu reservoir. He got acquainted with the construction process of the dam of the reservoir, was interested in the current problems and the deadline for the construction of the structure. The reservoir is being built with the funding of the French Development Agency and the RA Government through the Territorial Development Fund of Armenia. Delpi Fanny appreciated the goal of the project, because the newly constructed reservoir with a capacity of 29 million cubic meters will ensure reliable irrigation of more than 3,200 hectares of fertile land in the scarce Ararat valley. More than 5,000 farms of Vedi and Ararat extended communities are the beneficiaries of Vedu Reservoir. Within the framework of the project, it is also planned to build a closed intra-farm irrigation network in the experimental areas, as a result of which farmers will be able to carry out irrigation with the latest drip and sprinkler technologies.
