In Aragatsotn, with an investment of 495 million drams, two inter-economic irrigation canals were put into operation. With the support of the Eurasian Development Bank, within the framework of the irrigation systems modernization project, the RA government, through the Regional Development Fund of Armenia (RTDF), increased the cultivated land by 115 hectares by reconstructing the Agarak-Voskehat-Voskevat canal and the MX-1 inter-economic divider of the left branch of the Kasakh irrigation system. As part of the irrigation system modernization project, the water loss in the renovated Agarak-Voskehat-Voskevat canal has been reduced by about 70 percent, the number of cultivated lands has increased by 15 hectares. 2300 linear meters of new pipeline was laid. Cultivated lands have increased by about 100 hectares in the area under the MX-1 inter-economic divider of the left branch of the Kasakh irrigation system. 3800 linear meters of pipe were laid. Intensive gardens with anti-hail nets and drip irrigation systems are already being established in this area. Thanks to the operation of the structures, the water supply of the irrigated hectares has increased.
